Hunting Opportunities
Hunting season is a very special time in Northern Michigan and "The High Banks" offers some of the best archery hunting around. The property is uniquely situated in the heart of thousands of un-broken woodland acres surrounded by agricultural croplands.
The Tobacco River, a state designated trout stream, runs through the property and provides ideal cover for deer, turkey and small game. This private hunting preserve is now being made available to the public! It's been aggressively managed for over 20 years and boasts many food plots. There's an excellent chance of taking a 125-class buck or better during your hunt, and throughout the rut it's not unusual to see two or three a day.
Everything's included, deluxe accommodations at the lodge, all meals, transportation to and from the blinds and care of your game after it's down. A nearby Amish butcher shop offers processing at very reasonable prices.
We have pre-set stands at all food plots as well as others strategically placed on proven game trails around the property. You're free to bring your own climbing stand. Ground blinds are available; please notify us in advance. There is a five-station archery practice range with life size deer targets on the premises, and we encourage all hunters to double-check their equipment before taking to the field.
Safety is a priority and each stand is equipped with a line tether providing fall restraint as the hunter ascends and descends to his stand. Use of a safety vest or three-point harness is required.
"The High Banks" adheres to Quality Deer Management practices, so a doe for the freezer is always an option. A minimum 8-point (4 points to one side) restriction will be strictly enforced. A fine of $120 will be assessed for any buck taken that scores under 120 points.
The emphasis is on a fun, relaxing time with an excellent opportunity to fill your tag and take a fine buck. Adult beverages may be consumed after last shooting light.
